Do You Have a Growth Mindset?

Good health results from many small daily choices due to a well-balanced routine. Will Bulsiewicz, M.D., MSCI, states, “When you build the right routine, then healing just happens. You’re living a life that heals, restores and strengthens you. And it’s effortless. But to get there, we have to get into the right frame of mind.”  Bulsiewicz is a gastroenterologist.

To get into the right mindset, Bulsiewicz advocates having a “growth mindset.” A growth mindset is about what we are capable of becoming.

Carol Dweck, a Stanford world-class psychologist, researched how success in all areas is influenced by how we think about our talents. People with a growth mindset believe their abilities can be developed. Those with a fixed mindset believe their abilities are fixed and are less likely to succeed than those with a growth mindset.

The hallmark of a growth mindset is the passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well. Dweck states that this mindset allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Are you ready to adopt a growth mindset to make those lifestyle changes to improve your health?
